A stolen photo today from my sister's blog! We had a beautiful cold wintry day trip to my favorite country town ...Daylesford! It was complete with gorgeous food and art and secondhand shopping! This is looking up at the mist covered botanical gardens.

A work in progress today! I am loving yellow and butter colours and pale sugar mint and pink. Tearing pretty paper is something I love to do and have added a lot of to my art in the past, especially in my art scrapbooks! I am enjoying it so much, I think it must continue to happen! I'm working on some Pastel Mixed Media Paintings and a search through my favorites turned up these beautiful inspirational images. Its been forever since I've written here and I really miss it! Time just for me is a precious commodity around here, but I love watching my little boys grow and I am working on my art as often as I can. I have learnt some big lessons this year already. For one ...To stop rushing and being stressed and to do everything in its own time. My mind and body are better off for it, my family is happier and I am living a more calm, balanced and happy life! And I am making Art that makes me happy, content and comes from my heart and spirit!

An amazing new fairytale adventure book called The CloudChasers we went to the launch of and had it signed by the Author and Illustrator for our boys! Its about three children and their adventures in a hot air balloon!
And a first but fuzzy glimpse of Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! I can't wait for this film, its going to be a major event in 2010 for me!
After the last huge painting in my last post I thought I would work on a few little ones and do a little experimenting. So here's a little peek at what I'm working on right now ... some very colourful blossoms and I'm also working on a little wire birdcage too! I had a little assistant today too, my four year old sat next to me wanting to help so I gave him his own little canvas to work on! Its nice that he is finally at a stage where we can do things like this together! Another little artist in the making!!!
Over the last few weeks I have been doing a course to develop my Intuition. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life! Its something I shall be open to for the rest of my days. I have seen progress in my creative, spiritual and physical development in such a short space of time and it just goes to show if you can open your heart and your mind that anything is possible! Here's my latest painting called Beyond the Summer House, its making a special appearence over Easter Weekend at our town's Annual Easter Fair and Art Show! I am very excited to be going to the opening tonight and meeting some very talented artists and some more of my fellow beautiful townsfolk!

Oh wow, I think I am finally over it! Our home's interior has been living very calmly in beachy aqua and white for the past four years. I think it may have been an attempt at adding some serenity to the toys scattered all over and the little bits of lego that are everywhere! Well finally I have decided not to fight against the tide of toys and accept they are here to stay! No I'm not giving up serenity, but have decided to embrace my eclectic side that is always trying to break through! Its time for some more colour, some creative expression, some more of me, no longer will the colour explosions live only in my paintings! Inspirations for my new decor include one of my favorite artists ... Frida Kahlo , also from one of my favorite flickr contacts to visit ... eclectic gypsyland! Doesn't everyone wish they had a gypsy caravan in their backyard or is it just me?
I am loving getting Lost at the moment!!! In " Lost In Austen" that is and loving every moment of this British series! So much fun, swooning, declarations of passion and I find myself speaking in old english constantly! Wouldn't you love to just jump into your favorite story? I think I'd like to jump into Snow White, Alice in Wonderland and perhaps an Arthurian Legend or two! There is lots of activity sneaking out onto the dining table at night in my home at the moment! When my little ones go off to Snoozyland ( as we like to call it!), the paint box and brushes are coming out! Its funny how even when I feel "so so" about creating, once I get started things start to flow, its feels right and then a few hours have gone by and that sense of accomplishment is wonderful! Here's a little peek around our house today ... above ... pretty japanese Tea Canisters we use to hold all our little things in the bathroom ... below ... my latest painting, called Her Lilac Charms ( I have an obsession with flowers, twigs, pods and things right now!)
Below ... This is my Afternoon Tea plate. I found it at the local Op Shop and decided that I should be able to enjoy this time with my boys using something a bit pretty instead of Spiderman or Thomas or Nemo plates! And below that is the most fabulous pink leather folk horse money box I found for a present at the Oxfam Shop! I love it so much I think I may just go back and get one for myself! Happy Tuesday and enjoy a cookie with me!!!
